Under FEHA and the CRD's guidelines, sexual harassment prevention training in California must address all of the following topics.
An explanation of sexual harassment consistent with FEHA and Title VII, including verbal, physical, and visual conduct.
Practical examples of conduct that constitutes sexual harassment across a range of workplace scenarios.
A summary of remedies available to victims and how to file a complaint internally and with the CRD or EEOC.
Information on the legal prohibition against retaliation for reporting harassment or participating in an investigation.
Definition of abusive conduct, its effects on targets and the workplace, and the employer's obligation to address it.
Training must include a section on harassment based on gender identity, gender expression, and sexual orientation.
For supervisory training: what supervisors are required to do when they witness or receive a report of harassment.
